Terms of Membership

These terms cover your membership in Phoenix Forum. They explain who you are contracting with, what we owe you, what you owe the room, what membership costs, and how the money-back guarantee works. Please read them before you join. If anything here is unclear, ask before you sign up rather than after.

1. Who you are contracting with

Phoenix Forum is operated by Sober Founders Inc. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Phoenix Forum” mean that company, and “you” means the member.

2. Who can join

Phoenix Forum is a peer advisory board for founders in recovery. Membership is not open to everyone, and the bar exists to protect the value of the room for the people already in it. To be considered you need:

  • At least $1M in annual revenue in the business you run.
  • At least one year of continuous sobriety, counted as 365 days or more.
  • A completed interview with us.

The interview is the real gate. Meeting the two numbers above makes you eligible to be considered; it does not entitle you to a seat. We decide who joins, and we may decline an application without giving a reason.

3. What membership includes

Membership gives you a seat in a small, vetted, confidential group that meets monthly, plus the member materials and any onboarding bonuses in effect when you join. We may change the format, the schedule, the facilitator or the group you sit in where that is needed to keep the room working. We will tell you in advance when we do.

4. Price, billing and term

  • Membership is $349 per month. There is no setup fee.
  • The minimum commitment is one year. Payment is collected monthly; the agreement itself is annual.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with the processor and never reach our servers.
  • Your card is charged on the same day each month until the term ends or the agreement is terminated under these terms.

If a payment fails, we will attempt to collect it again and contact you. Membership may be suspended while an account is past due.

5. The money-back guarantee

If you show up and still do not think it is worth it, you get your money back. That promise has terms, and they are here rather than buried:

  • The checkpoint is the six month mark of your membership.
  • You must have attended six meetings by that point.
  • You must have completed your Founders Compass.
  • If both of those are true and you still do not see the value, we refund what you have paid, in full.

The guarantee is the exit from the one year commitment. It is the only guarantee Phoenix Forum makes; we do not promise any particular business result, revenue figure or return on your investment.

6. Ending your membership

You may request a refund and end your membership at the six month checkpoint under the guarantee above. Otherwise membership runs for the agreed one year term. After the initial term, membership continues monthly until you tell us in writing that you want it to stop.

We may end your membership immediately if you breach the confidentiality obligation in section 7, breach the code of conduct, or behave in a way that makes the room unsafe or unworkable for other members. Where we do that for cause, the guarantee does not apply.

7. Confidentiality

The room only works because what is said in it stays in it. This obligation runs in both directions and it survives your membership ending.

  • Do not repeat, publish, record or paraphrase anything another member shares, inside or outside the group, including the fact that a particular person is a member.
  • Do not record meetings, take screenshots, or bring a guest or an AI notetaker into a meeting.
  • Do not use what you learn about another member’s business to compete with them, solicit their staff, or trade on the information.

We hold ourselves to the same standard. We do not disclose who is in the room or what is said in it. The narrow exceptions are where we are required by law to disclose something, or where there is a credible risk of serious harm to you or someone else.

8. Code of conduct

Membership is conditional on following our code of conduct, which forms part of these terms.

9. What Phoenix Forum is not

This matters more here than it would elsewhere, so it is stated plainly. Phoenix Forum is a peer advisory board. It is not any of the following:

  • It is not treatment, therapy, counselling or medical care, and it is not a substitute for any of them. We are not clinicians and nothing in the room is a clinical assessment or a treatment plan.
  • It is not a recovery program and it does not replace whatever you do to stay sober.
  • It is not legal, tax, accounting, investment or financial advice. Members will give you opinions on your business. Those are peer opinions, not professional advice, and you should get your own advisers before acting on them.

If you are in crisis or you believe you are at risk, contact your physician or your local emergency services. Do not wait for the next meeting.

10. Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information when you apply, and keep your billing details current.
  • Show up. The room depends on members being in it.
  • Do not share your seat, your login or member materials with anyone else.
  • Do not use Phoenix Forum to sell to, recruit or raise money from other members unless they have invited that conversation.

11. Member materials

Worksheets, frameworks, recordings and other materials we give you are licensed to you for your own use while you are a member. They remain ours. Do not republish, resell or distribute them.

12. Limits on our liability

We provide the membership with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for business losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or decisions you make on the strength of something said in the room, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will tell you before it takes effect. Your price and term for the year you have committed to will not change part way through it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and the courts of that state have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
